BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

the pellet method

What is BHRT?

Bioidentical hormones are designed to match the exact structure of those your body naturally produces, allowing for more effective use and fewer unwanted side effects. With the pellet method, tiny customized pellets are placed under the skin to deliver a steady, consistent release of hormones over time—avoiding the ups and downs of other forms of therapy. Our goal is to restore optimal levels, helping improve energy, mood, clarity, and overall well-being so you can feel your best every day.

INDIVIDUALIZED CARE

Why BioIdenticial?

Bio-identical hormones are designed to have the same exact molecular structure as the hormones naturally produced by your body. Because they closely match your body’s own hormones, they are often better recognized and utilized, which may help provide effective symptom relief with fewer unwanted side effects. The goal of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is not simply to replace declining hormones, but to restore balance and support optimal hormone levels for overall wellness. In our experience, many patients notice improvements in energy, mood, sleep, mental clarity, libido, and quality of life. Our mission is to help you feel your best, support healthy aging, and enjoy a more vibrant, active life.

Question 1: What is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that are chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced by the human body. It is commonly used to help manage symptoms related to hormone imbalance or aging.

Question 2: What is the difference between BHRT and traditional hormone therapy?

BHRT uses hormones structurally identical to those naturally produced by the body. Traditional hormone therapy may use synthetic or animal-derived hormones.

Question 3: What symptoms can BHRT help with?

Symptoms include: Hot flashes, Night sweats, Fatigue, Brain fog, Mood swings, Low libido, Vaginal dryness, Weight changes, Sleep problems

Question 4: Who is a candidate for BHRT?

People experiencing symptoms related to hormonal imbalance, menopause, perimenopause, low testosterone, or certain endocrine conditions may be candidates. A healthcare provider usually confirms this through symptom review and lab testing.

Question 5: Is BHRT only for women?

No. BHRT can also be used for men experiencing low testosterone or other hormone-related symptoms.

Question 6: What hormones are commonly used in BHRT?

Common hormones include: Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, Thyroid hormones

Question 7: How long does it take to feel the results?

Some people notice improvement within a few weeks, while others may take 2–3 months to experience full benefits.

Question 8: How often does the pellet last?

BHRT pellets typically last about 3–4 months, depending on your individual hormone needs, metabolism, and treatment plan. Once the pellet has fully dissolved, a quick follow-up visit to the Full Life office is scheduled for reinsertion to help maintain consistent hormone levels and symptom relief.

Question 9: What is the BHRT pellet insertion procedure like?

Pellet insertions are performed conveniently in-office using a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. During treatment, a small bio-identical hormone pellet is placed just beneath the skin, typically in the hip area. The insertion process is quick, minimally invasive, and usually takes less than 5 minutes.

Once inserted, the pellet gradually dissolves over time, delivering a steady, consistent dose of natural hormone directly into the bloodstream. Most pellets last approximately 3–4 months before reinsertion is needed. Follow-up insertions require only a brief visit to the Full Life office.

Question 10: Is treatment covered by insurance?

BHRT pellet therapy is not covered by insurance. However, lab work and blood testing may be covered depending on your insurance plan when your blood is drawn. To learn more about treatment costs, please call or text our office at 615-422-6001.

Balance Your Hormones, Reclaim Your Life.

Our experience of life is deeply influenced by our hormones. They shape how we feel, think, and even how we interpret the world around us. When hormones are balanced, energy is steady, mood feels lighter, and everyday life tends to feel more positive and manageable. But when that balance is disrupted, it can affect nearly every part of how we function and feel. Energy may drop, motivation can fade, and things that once brought enjoyment may feel frustrating or dull.

Shifts or declines in key hormones can lead to a wide range of symptoms for both women and men, including hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, mood changes, depression, weight gain, memory difficulties, reduced drive, and a lower sex drive.

“Hormones don’t just regulate the body. They influence how we experience life itself.” — Dr. Woodford, Founder of Full Life Wellness Center
